This competition invites tech enthusiasts, developers, and innovators to showcase their skills in creating cutting-edge IoT solutions. Compete with the brightest minds, collaborate on groundbreaking projects, and gain hands-on experience in the fast-growing field of Internet of Things technology. Competition Rules:
The document should contain the followings -
1. Title of your proposed idea
2. What is the specific problem that you are willing to solve using IoT? (50 words max)
3. Describe your innovative solution? (150 words max)
4. What makes your solution innovative?
5. What are the risk factors and challenges associated with your proposed solution? How to mitigate them?
6. Is there any existing national or international solution like yours? If yes, then please mention the difference in your solution?
7. Will your proposed solution require any change in policy? Which policy?
8. Do you already have any prototypes? If yes, please describe. Upload file (Image, YouTube link, Google link, Word, PDF)
Selection Process:
Phase 1: Submit your proposal (idea) along with Team details (Members' Names, Organization Name, Mobile Number, Email Address, Mentor’s Name) to hackathon@aiub.edu on or before October 20, 2024, Sunday.
Phase 2: Only 20 teams will be moved to the Final Round in the initial screening.
Phase 3: Final Round will be held on November 02, 2024, Saturday at American International University - Bangladesh (AIUB). Each group can have a minimum of 3 members and a maximum of 5 members.

October 28, 2024 - Following a thorough review process, we're excited to announce that, due to the exceptional quality and competitive nature of this year’s submissions, we’ve selected 25 groups to advance to the final round instead of the usual 20. Each project brought unique innovation and insight, making this decision a testament to the high level of talent and creativity displayed by all participants.

Q. Who can participate?
A. This competition is open to everyone. Participants can be from any profession, including school students, college students, university students, graduates, postgraduates, and job holders. In short, anyone can participate.
Q. What are the rewards for the winners?
A. The winners will receive prize money. The first-place winner will receive BDT 50,000, the second-place winner will receive BDT 30,000, and the third-place winner will receive BDT 20,000.
Q. What are the benefits of participating in this competition?
A. By participating, you will enhance your knowledge and ability to identify and solve problems. You will also discover which skills you need to develop to excel in the future. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to network with diverse individuals, meet industry leaders, and build a professional network that can benefit your career in the future.
Q. What is the minimum and maximum number of group members who can participate?
A. The minimum number of members is 3, and the maximum is 5.
Q. Is having a mentor mandatory?
A. No, having a mentor is not mandatory.
Q. Who can be a mentor?
A. Any teacher who has actively guided and supported you in developing your project can serve as a mentor.
Q. How should a group prepare the proposal?
A. A guideline has been provided in the competition rules detailing the required information for the proposal. Please follow that guideline when preparing your proposal.
Q. What is the deadline for submitting the proposal for Phase 1?
A. The deadline for Phase 1 proposal submission is Sunday, October 20, 2024.
Q. Where should the group submit the proposal?
A. Please send your proposal to hackathon@aiub.edu.
Q. If a group has already submitted their project idea, can they resubmit now that the deadline has been extended?
A. No, only one submission per group is allowed. If a group has resubmitted, only the initial submission will be assessed.
Q. Will a confirmation email be sent upon receiving the proposal for Phase 1?
A. No confirmation emails will be sent. Only the teams that advance to the final round will be contacted.
Q. If a group makes it to the final round, do they have to present a prototype?
A. Yes, a model must be presented to demonstrate how the group's idea solves the problem.
Q. Does the group need to provide a PowerPoint presentation along with their prototype?
A. A PowerPoint presentation or any animated video is optional; however, it is advisable to include one, as it will make the group appear more prepared and professional, and help them feel more confident in front of the judges.
Q. Can the group present their idea solely through a PowerPoint presentation, without the prototype?
A. No, it is essential to show a functional model.
Q. Does the group have to prepare the prototype at the venue from scratch?
A. Not necessarily. Once the group receives the email confirming their selection for the final round, they can begin working on the prototype. They may bring it fully or partially ready. Limited time will be provided at the venue, so it is advisable to come with the prototype as prepared as possible.
Q. How much time will be allotted to prepare the prototype in the final round of the IoT hackathon at the venue?
A. Generally, the group will have 3-4 hours, with time available until 1 PM.
Q. Will any stationery be provided?
A. No, the group must bring their own stationery.
Q. Are participants responsible for the costs of creating the prototype and transportation?
A. Yes, participants are responsible for these costs.
Q. How many guests are allowed per participant?
A. We generally ask that participants and mentors attend without additional guests. However, exceptions may be made for special cases, such as school-age participants or participants with disabilities, who may bring a guardian to be in the audience.
